Chennai: Once Murali Vijay had blasted 113 off 58 on Friday to take Chennai Super Kings to 222 against Delhi Daredevils, it was all about bowling tight. MS Dhoni's side did just that to set-up their fourth consecutive appearance in the final of Indian Premier League.

Delhi never seemed to be in the match as Vijay took the bowling apart with his massive arsenal of shots - something none of the Delhi batsmen could replicate. He smashed Sunny Singh for two boundaries in the opening over after his side was asked to bat. His partner in Michael Hussey was also formidable in his approach against Delhi but had his innings cut short when he knicked Varun Aaron to the wicketkeeper behind.

Nothing seemed to bother Vijay though as he found good support from Suresh Raina (27 off 17) and MS Dhoni (23 off 10) before Dwayne Bravo came to the middle and whacked 33 off 12 on his own.

Delhi did not play Morne Morkel and had to keep an injured Irfan Pathan out as well. It hurt both their bowling as well as batting.

Chasing 222 was never going to be easy but it turned impossible when they lost David Warner and Virender Sehwag inside four overs.

Mahela Jayawardena threatened for a bit with his 55 off 38 that justified his promotion to the top, replacing Sehwag. Once he left however, it was all about time. Chennai eventually bowled them out and scripted a resounding victory. (courtesy sports.ndtv.com)
