Mumbai, Feb 27(ANI): South Africa's greatest cricket fielder, Jonty Rhodes, is the latest to laud Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar's double century.Speaking to journalists in Mumbai, Rhodes, a current fielding coach for Indian Premier League (IPL) team the Mumbai Indians, said he was optimistic about the team, especially its star player, Tendulkar."I think the makeup of the Mumbai Indians team for season number three is looking really strong and positive. Anybody who comes off a double century in a one day international 50-over game must be in very good form," said Rhodes.Tendulkar became the first batsman to hit 200 runs in a one-day international on Wednesday, and set up a 153-run win and a series victory for India over South Africa. While Rhodes may not have any qualms about Tendulkar wit... - T-20 revolution defines Noughties decade
The noughties, as the first decade of the new millennium came to be known, were the decade of the cricketing revolution. So much did the game change in the 10 years that the dark years around 2000 AD that were marked by the players’ betting scandal were quickly forgotten. Hansie Cronje died, Azharuddin entered politics successfully and the bookies went back into the woodwork. If the end of the scandal represented the beginning of hope, the rapid change that came about with the Twenty20 revolu... more

When Steve Davis raised his finger to signal Morne Morkel’s dismissal leg-before wicket to Harbhajan Singh, the first reaction was not just to follow Harbhajan as he made his victory run but also to see the slow motion action replay. India did not want to win with an umpiring error with so little time left for the Test to finish. The decision was spot on again and what Davis and Ian Gould have shown in this series and in the Kolkata Test in particular, is that they are among the top umpires in ... more

1970: The end of an era that was only just beginning. South Africa completed their 1st series whitewash with another thumping victory over Australia in Port Elizabeth. Their 4-0 triumph was made up of four huge victories: by 170 runs, an innings and 129 runs, 307 runs, and 323 runs. But they would not play another Test for 22 years, after apartheid brought about their isolation, and nobody will ever know just how good this team which included Barry Richards, the Pollocks, Eddie Barlow, Denis Lindsay and Mike Procter could have been.
