Rahul Dravid has made a comeback in the Indian ODI team after two years out of side.

Born on Jan 11, 1973 at Indore. Rahul Dravid is a right-handed batsman and Right arm off spinner. He is also an excellent wicket-keeper. He made his ODI debut for India v/s Sri Lanka at Singapore on April 3, 1996. In his very first match he scored only 3 runs and took 2 catches.

In his first 9 matches he had scored only 102 runs at an avg of 17.00. He scored his first half-century in his 10 th match when he made a solid 90 runs v/s Pakistan at Toronto during the Sahara cup on Sep 17, 1996 but unfortunately India lost that match.

Dravid was at his best in the 1999 World Cup. During this World Cup he played all the 8 matches for India scored 461 runs at an avg of 65.81 which includes 2 tons and 3 half-centuries. Later he was declared man of the tournament.Overall, in year 1999 he played 43 matches scored 1761 runs at an avg of 46.34 which includes 6centuries and 8 half-centuriies. TTill date this is his best performance during a year .

Dravid last represented India in the ICC Championships in South Africa in 2009. During this tournament he played 3 matches and scored 80 runs at an avg of 40.00. His best performance came against Pakistan when he made a solid 76.

Overall, he has so far played 339 matches scored 10765 runs at an avg of 39.43 which includes 12 centuries and 82 half-centuries. His highest score is 153. This score was made against New Zealand in Hyderabad in 1999. In instant cricket Dravid is the only batsman who has so far involved in two triple century wicket partnerships.

In the 79 matches as a captain he has so far aggregated 2658 runs at an avg of 42.19 which includes 2 cneturies and 25 half -centuries.After Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis and Brain Lara Dravid is only the fifth batsman to aggregate 10000 or more runs in the both version of the game i.e Test and ODIs.
