| London, June 26 (ANI): Australia's wicketkeeper Matthew Wade has said his team possesses the bowling firepower to trouble England's in-form batting line up during their five-match one-day series. England has won their past six one-day series on home soil since Australia crushed them 6-1 after the 2009 Ashes series. England batsmen have scored a century in their past six one-day internationals with captain Alastair Cook scoring three of those hundreds and an 80 during that period. However, Wade is confident that the resurgent pace attack of world No.1 Australia could trouble the likes of Cook and Ian Bell. "We have three or four blokes who bowl over 150km/h. So, it has been a bit of a nightmare in the past few weeks facing those guys in the nets. I think we have the firepower to counter those guys," he said. The fast bowling attack has serious pace in the form of Brett Lee, Pat Cummins, James Pattinson and Mitchell Johnson while Clint McKay and Ben Hilfenhaus add guile and swing to the mix, News.com.au reports. "In any one-day international team your top two or three players are really important - if they are scoring hundreds generally they are going to win games. Hence their (England's) record is outstanding at the moment. We have to find a way to dismiss those guys," Wade said. (ANI) |
