Botham brands Anderson best swing bowler in world

London, May 23(ANI): Legendary England captain Ian Botham has heaped praise on their current bowling line up, and branded James Anderson as the world’s best swing bowler.

England won the first Test match against West Indies at Lord’s by five wickets, following impressive performances by their front line bowlers, especially Stuart Broad. But Botham believes Anderson deserved more wickets during the match.

“I love our bowlers to death. They are the best in the world at what they do and whether England stick with Tim Bresnan, or go with Steve Finn or Graeme Onions at Trent Bridge, I expect another 20 wickets to be taken,” Botham writes in his Daily Mirror column.

“Jimmy Anderson is the best swing bowler in the world and he was unlucky not to get more wickets in this match. I don’t think he will have any trouble increasing his tally in Nottingham,” he added.

“If there was one ground he’d love to play Test cricket on, apart from his beloved home Old Trafford, it would be Trent Bridge, because he is king there,” he further wrote. (ANI)
