| 1) ICC to only entertain applications which will be approved by appropriate Editors or employers Dubai, 18 June 2012; The media accreditation process for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 is now open. This is an online process that can be followed by clicking on this link. As part of the application process you will need to upload a jpeg photograph, a pdf letter of assignment from your editor and a jpeg or pdf version of a relevant piece of identification. As such, it will help you as you fill out your application to have those documents ready in advance to upload. After the applicant has submitted his/her online application, a message will go to his/her Editor or employer requesting him/her to approve the application by clicking an attached link which will open a page accordingly for the Editor/employer to ‘Confirm’ or ‘Reject’ the applicant. Until the application is approved by the relevant Editor or employer, the ICC will not be able to process the application. As such, all Editors are strongly advised to approve their staffers’ applications at their earliest opportunity. At the same time, Editors are requested only to approve applications of staff members who will be in Sri Lanka in a working capacity. The close date for applications is 15 July 2012. Important notes 1) Given the large number of applicants expected, space for media will be limited. Only working journalists with specific assignments will be accredited to the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012. It is up to the relevant sports editors to limit the numbers of people applying from their specific organisations. 2) Accreditation for the event does not guarantee access to a specific match. During the first round of the application stage it is not necessary to indicate which matches you intend to cover. Once your application has been approved by the ICC, you will be asked to log in again between 1 and 15 August to select the matches you wish to cover for the event. 3) Media will be required to indicate the nationality of their media outlet, in the case of the three international news agencies these can be found under the following countries: Associated Press (AP) – United States of America; Agence France Presse (AFP) – France; and Reuters – United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. 4) National news agencies are registered by country, with West Indies’ regional news agencies registered under ‘West Indies’ for easier identification by the applicant. All West Indies media outlets are also registered under the region ‘West Indies’ rather than by country for easier identification by the applicant. 5) Generally, a maximum of two individuals per organisation will be granted access to any one match. Again, this is purely a question of available space. 6) For members of the travelling media requiring visas for Sri Lanka, please visit www.eta.gov.lk 7) Freelance journalists must also supply a letter of assignment from the commissioning editor of a genuine media outlet that is registered with the relevant government information agency or department. 8) Late applications will not be entertained. 9) Accreditation for the event is being looked after by an external agency. Therefore, all queries pertaining to media accreditation should be forwarded to wt20accreditation'dnanetworks.in with ‘NRH WT20 Accreditation Query’ in the subject line of the email. Please do not reply to this email address. 10) Broadcast rights-holders: All television rights-holders/official television broadcasters for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012 should contact Sunil Manoharan from ESPN STAR Sports at sunil.manoharan'espnstar.com and all other rights-holders (photograph, radio and news access) should contact Lara Richards, ICC Media Rights and Broadcast Officer, at lara.richards'icc-cricket.com, for details on the accreditation process. Terms and conditions for attending this event in the role of media are available at the time of applying and must be accepted before your application can be processed. Notes to Editors (i) Each Applicant’s respective Editor/employer must approve that Applicant’s application before it is processed by the ICC. Without such approval, an application will not be considered for processing. (ii) The ICC reserves the right to approve/reject/request further information on all applications in its sole discretion and without providing reasons for doing so. (iii) The ICC reserves the right to withdraw the accreditation of any accredited journalist whom it deems is in breach of the Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions for the ICC World Twenty20 Sri Lanka 2012. (iv) Journalists found recording matches will have their accreditation withdrawn and will be banned from covering any further matches. (v) Journalists failing to attend more than half the matches after confirming their attendance may drop in the pecking order. (vi) Journalists not responding to reminder emails from the accreditation manager may drop in the pecking order. (vii) Journalists not informing the accreditation manager about a change in their plans may jeopardise any applications they may make for accreditation for future ICC events. (viii) To guarantee a place in the press box, all journalists will require both their Event accreditation and a match day ticket. Event accreditation alone will not entitle a journalist to a seat in the press box.
